KEEP YOUR MARKETING STRATEGY MOVING FORWARD

It’s been roughly 7 months now since the Covid-19 started to flip our lives upside down. Many of you have been waiting, cause you don't know what the new normal is going to look like. Sadly it's time to accept that this has become our new normal. To keep your business going (and hopefully moving forward) it's time to ask: Is your marketing a reflection of the current landscape? If the answer is... "I don't know," then it means it's time to look at and maybe change the direction of your marketing strategy.

I know you might be thinking the ideal thing to do right now is to cut marketing. I encourage you not to do that because withdrawing marketing efforts discontinues your connection with your consumers and one thing for sure right now is that people are eager to interact. A lack of connection is also a lack of visibility and that can even result in consumers thinking you have closed for good! This is a moment it's most essential that you stay top of mind and communicate your products and services (over and over again!) So where do you reach them? Consumer behavior proves that people are online and at home. Therefore, online marketing is the place to keep and build relationships and connections. Clearly, this is the fastest, most cost-effective way to remind customers you are willing and able to provide them with the products or services that they require. Now is the time for you to review your marketing strategy.

Your Marketing Review

Questions to ask as part of your marketing review:

  • Do your current marketing channels allow you to reach your clients and prospects?

  • What happens when you Google your business? What are prospective clients seeing?

  • What are your competitors doing?

  • Your website is your business. Does it create the right impression?

  • Is your branding and logo design still relevant? How do you feel when you hand over your business card?

  • Are you using social media? If not, why not?

  • Think about your short and long-term business objectives. Have they changed?

Conclusion A successful marketing review definitely requires a level of honesty. However, to weather this and future storms, it’s important you feel confident in your marketing. Ask yourself; is it working for you or against you? Whether online marketing was your main focus or not, you can make changes today.
