THE CHALLENGE
Lousie Newsome came to me because she wanted to rebrand the website for her design business as as well as her husbands two other businesses. However, during my discovery process, I found out that although they both had different businesses ( Newway and Stuart Newsome Construction) they were in fact working together in their other business " Newway, LLC".
THE SOLUTION
Rebrand the parent brand; Newway, LLC all services under Family Branding (also known as Umbrella Branding) this included a co-rebrand of Lousie's website to "Newsome Color ." Since Stuart did not require a website, I created a LinkedIn business page for "Stuart Newsome Construction that is connected through is LinkedIn Profile." With this solution, the advantage is that all three brands can have their own stand alone identity and in essence, are free to play their own game in their marketing, unrestricted by the parent brand, yet retaining their connection:
Newway, LLC | Newsome Color | Stuart Newsome Construction : I use the branded "N" in all three logo marks and added the tag lines; "Working as One" tagline- We Build the Team You Need” to the and set the tone of the overall united messaging. On Newway's website the red line was used it in a way that it was now part of the transition, by creating service icons to allow users to easily locate and learn more about the various different services. (see website below) This approach lends itself to stand alone marketing for Newsome Color as well as Stuart Newsome Construction.
